Industrial Maintenance Technician : NOTE - THIS IS NOT A MACHINE OPERATOR POSITION. Must have maintenance experience. Electrical is preferred but not required.
JOB SUMMARY : Penn Wood Products, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Industrial Maintenance Technician. The individual is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery, consisting of mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsible for industrial machinery upkeep, working alone or with a crew. The individual must be well-rounded and able to perform efficient work on a variety of equipment, executing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.
Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications :
Must hold a certificate or diploma in a related field, Associates Degree or Journeyman license
Experience with Industrial maintenance required; Corrective / breakdown experience preferred
Working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage, and safety procedures
Self-motivated, responsible and Safety Oriented individual.
Strong welding skills are required.
Learns and applies standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
Demonstrates a positive "can-do" attitude.
Takes responsibility for self-performance (Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently).
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and meeting expectations.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Duties :
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain / sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, and production machines.
Capable of following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. • Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring tools.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to navigate construction sites consisting of uneven terrain, climbing stairs, ladders, and working at heights
Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance
The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms
Must be able to lift objects up to 60 pounds
Must be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work in atmospheric conditions such as extreme cold, heat, humidity, and other various weather conditions
Employee may be exposed to moderate noise levels
