Quality Control Facilitator - 1st shift
Job Summary :
A Pennwood Quality Facilitator will have a broad scope of duties as they grow into this role. Machine operating will be part of the training process which will then allow the facilitator to be able to identify all wood moldings, wood species, manufacturing processes, grading, and product specifications. In addition, strong mathematical skills, and experience in verbal and written communication with both internal and external customers is expected, the ability to multitask, as well as having previous quality control experience is beneficial. The applicant should be proficient in composing correspondence, working independently, self-motivated, and have a good attendance and safety record.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Conduct inspections on all manufactured and purchased products, including ripping, molding, finishing, labeling, packaging, and inventory. This includes auditing inventory from the floor to shipments.
- Measure product dimensions, grade specifications and identify different lumber species.
- Interpret drawings and utilize a digital caliper accurately.
- Review sanding specifications, examine finishes and apply product specifications for appropriate finish, adhesion, and gloss levels
- Inspect any returns and handle customer complaints.
- Generate Quality Control reports based on daily or weekly findings.
- Assist supervisors in training new employees on grading specifications when needed.
Required Qualifications :
Proficient in composing correspondence, working independently, self-motivated, and a good attendance and safety record is a must.
