What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Coordinator position at Pennybyrn?
Pennybyrn has an opportunity for a full-time Billing Coordinator.
The ideal candidate must have two years experience within medical billing (long-term care is required), managing insurance and authorizations, PDM (Medicare), Medicaid claims, VA claims, as well as MDS, collections, and accounts receivable. The Billing Coordinator is responsible for billing of 400 residents within Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing. This position performs monthly billing services, verifies pay sources, submits claims, enters service charges, posts payments, manages collections, accounts receivable, participates in triple checks, and reports on census.
Candidate must have excellent analytical, organizational, and customer service skills, professional etiquette, as well as a strong, positive attitude with a winning personality! This position requires a self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative manner in a diverse, team environment.
Experience and Skills: Only those candidates who meet the following criteria should apply:
- A passion for excellence in customer service for employees and residents.
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical billing (long-term care is required), managing insurance, PDM (Medicare), and Medicaid claims, as well as MDS, collections, and accounts receivable.
- Experience with Healthcare Data Management system (like MatrixCare).
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet critical business deadlines with efficiency, and able to multitask.
