A Typical Day
The Compensation Analyst will play a key role in analysis, metrics and reporting, primarily in the areas of broad-based compensation, as part of Pennymac’s Human Resources department. As the Analyst, you will recommend, develop and implement an appropriate employee compensation structure, involving configuring pay grades and evaluating new employee titles and ongoing reclassification of pay grades.
The Compensation Analyst will:
- Conduct analysis on internal and external salary statistics
- Keep up with pending changes that will affect hiring, earnings and benefits, such as adjustments to minimum or living wages
- Review and administer FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) classifications
- Support the annual salary survey and market analysis project
- Develop, run and distribute comparative analyses and advanced metrics-based reporting
- Perform other related duties as needed
- Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
What You’ll Bring
- Technical proficiency: report writing tools, notably Cognos; Access, VBA and/or SQL a plus
- Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
- Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:
- Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
- Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
- Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
