Job Overview
Interns may serve in one or more areas of the company and will be assigned a variety of tasks and project assignments designed to provide a sense of the general business environment as well as day-today activities in a financial services firm. Interns may take direction from one or more Supervisors/Managers in their specific area to gain exposure to the firm’s businesses model and expanded knowledge of the mortgage banking industry while developing important analytical and communication skills. The internship is a full-time position offered over a 10 week period typically occurring during the summer months. The position does not have a guarantee or promise of employment at the end of the program. Currently in need of an Internal Communication Specialist who will write, edit and create copy that will keep employees informed of the goals and strategies of the organization. They will use a variety of forms of communication activities and programs to engage employees in the culture of the organization.
A Typical Day
- Identify and write stories appropriate for internal distribution, publish to company intranet
- Copywrite, help design and execute email campaigns
- Identify, develop and deploy communication strategies for all site locations for management review
- Develop communications that engage employees and corporate culture initiatives
- Manage internal communication and outreach through company intranet, closed circuit TVs, etc
- Copyedit, proofread and revise communications from various sources
- Participate in the development of communication plan
- Ensure communications are aligned with organization’s strategic vision/plan
- Support communication strategy and content with research and industry news
- Manage internal communication output
- Set scheduled timing of communication releases
- Ensure consistent framing of messaging
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
What You’ll Bring
- HS Diploma or Equivalent work experience
- Paid internship program (relocation or student housing expenses not included)
- Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and SQL is a plus)
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Skills in solving problems, making decisions, and resolving conflicts
- Organizational and project management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications
- High standard of professionalism

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:
- Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
- Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
- Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
