Details:
- Starting pay is $18/hour; or $19.00/hour if you obtain your lifeguard certification.
- This position runs June 15th through August 15th with five additional mandatory training days from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm (dates pending).
- The schedule is up to 40 hours per week and may rotate between the hours of 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

Requirements:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises a group of children.
- Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred previous experience working with children, bonus if you've worked in a day camp setting before.
- Experience preferred in one or more camp skills: outdoor recreation, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, arts/crafts, etc…
- At least 16 years of age (The age minimum may be higher depending on state law and YMCA policies.)
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training are required within 30 days of hire date.
