About the Role
The Clinical IT Coordinator will provide support for clinical information systems, understanding the needs and opportunities nurses and medical providers have with technology. This includes planning, coordinating, and facilitating education for computer applications and software for all user groups.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting and facilitating computer applications training
- Providing computer orientation training and Information Systems updates
- Assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating employee and departmental educational programs for staff
- Conducting annual educational needs survey
- Maintaining a detailed understanding and working knowledge of Information Systems
- Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with IS Director and support staff
- Maintaining attendance records for education sessions
- Maintaining a close working relationship with nursing staff and medical providers as a daily resource for IS technical support
This role requires collaboration with leaders of other departments to ensure required updates are completed in computer software programs utilized by the facility. Additionally, the incumbent will participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills as requested.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field with at least two years of experience
- Able to problem solve; critical thinking skills, effective verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience with computer systems
- Willingness to continually gain and improve computer skills
