Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8AM – 4PM; Evenings and Weekends as needed for Special Events

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Vice President of Resource Development works closely with the senior leadership team to assess resource needs across the organization to set fundraising strategy and effectively identify grant, sponsorship, donor, and volunteer opportunities to support the diverse needs to support our mission and vision. The Vice President of Resource Development will oversee all fundraising and community engagement activity and is responsible for developing, managing, and promoting Board approved programs, relationships, and events in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties that have long-term positive results for the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee diverse development activities to include donor relationships, corporate partnerships, special events, and grant writing and fulfilment.
- Establish an annual development plan for raising funds for all sectors, i.e. cash donations, in-kind gifts, special events, campaigns planned to give, foundations and grants.
- Work across departments as needed to fulfill compliance needs for HFHI programs, Neighborworks initiatives, and grant fulfilment requirements.
- Direct, train, supervise, and evaluate department team
- Manage external relationships with individuals and organizations in all sectors including but not limited to individual donors and local foundation, civic organization, faith based, corporate, not-for-profit, and governmental representatives to bring support and specific resources to benefit Habitat’s mission.
- Research and identify new or under-utilized fundraising resources and implement programs to establish or fulfill programs to their prospective beneficial capacities, i.e. grants, foundations, civic organization involvement.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process with Finance Committee and CFO.
- Ensure timely acknowledgements for all donations; maintain appropriate records of contacts and potential contacts, update and utilize database as needed.
- Develop and implement advocacy events and activities to broaden awareness of current trends in affordable housing and community development.
- Attend monthly meetings of the Board of Directors and scheduled board and program committee meetings as needed as well as scheduled staff and management meetings.
- Oversee the development and effective activity of the Board of Director’s Resource Development Committee.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Must have experience in writing/editing for general publication as well as experience in technical grant preparation (writing samples required with application).
- Must be experienced and comfortable managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Must have experience supervising subordinate staff, both compensated and non-compensated.
- Must be able to work with people from every level of the community with respect and dignity.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
- College degree required; advanced degree(s) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of non-profit development experience required; fundraising credentials desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier.
