What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sleep Center Manager position at Pensacola Lung Group?
Summary
Responsible for the general supervision of Sleep Center clinic operations and staff. Able to perform all duties of Registered Polysomnographer/Sleep Technologist and clerical office staff, as needed. The manager oversees operations related to in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.
Essential Functions
Administers diagnostic procedures utilizing appropriate protocols; operates polysomnographic equipment to obtain diagnostic recordings while manually controlling the equipment to obtain the requested pertinent waveforms from the area being studied; prepares and scores sleep studies and reports for physicians; monitors the quality of tests being conducted while ensuring prudent resource management; completes quality reports as needed; reviews clinical data from medical records and patient interviews and bases testing modalities on information obtained; demonstrates proficiency and remains current in the neurodiagnostic field by maintaining CEU’s where applicable
Provides daily oversight of the sleep center operations; creates staffing schedule(s) and ensures the staffing ratios meet patient needs.
Assists with candidate interviews and selection, employee performance reviews and employee disciplinary actions; trains and mentors new and existing staff members
Maintains sleep center databases and laboratory policy and procedure manual; assists with sleep center projects.
Requirements
- Vocational/Technical Degree in at least one of the following areas: Sleep, Respiratory Therapy, EEG, or other clinical healthcare field.
- Licensure/Certification: RPSGT, RST, RRT/CRT with SDS or CPSGT; and BLS Certification.
- 2 years direct patient care in an accredited Sleep Center
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must demonstrate social skills, good oral and written communication skills, and computer literacy. Must be able to work independently and problem solve with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Prior supervisory experience and/or medical office management experience.
