What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at PENSACOLA PEDIATRICS?
The work:
-Work closely with a premier pediatric physician
-Prepares and assembles medical record documentation/charts for physician.
-Enters the patient room during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing electronic medical record.
-Updates patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient record.
-Prepares and sends all documentation to physician for review and approval.
-Monitors basic lab results and screening procedures.
-Complies with policies, including those relating to HIPAA.
-Performs other duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and workflow as assigned.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
AA or Bachelor’s degree with pre-health career track strongly preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
Skilled in operating various software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs
Minimum of 60 WPM preferred
Clinical staff member who can assist with a range of office duties. Can include but not limited to symptom triage, temperature checks, nasal swabbing and clerical tasks.
Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Healthcare students not excluded.
