Job Description:
WSRE is a noncommercial television station serving the communities of Northwest Florida and Southeastern Alabama. The Director, Business and Administration is a full-time, on site (at the Pensacola, Florida campus) professional/managerial position with an anticipated start date of March 1, 2025. The primary function of this position is to establish and oversee financial and administrative systems and policies for WSRE and the WSRE TV Foundation, a related 501(c)3 organization. The Director will work with the General Manager to identify and coordinate personnel needs, budgetary requirements (annual and long-term capital outlay), prepare and oversee contracts and grants, and oversee administrative aspects of station operations. Position serves as Finance Director for the Station, and Treasurer for the WSRE TV Foundation, coordinating all aspects of financial reporting (GASB) for both the Station and the Foundation. This encompasses budget development and oversight, regulatory compliance oversight and financial reporting (Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), Florida Department of Education (FL DOE)). Position functions as Station liaison with College Purchasing, Accounting, Property Management, Human Resources, Legal and Payroll departments for Station matters. In order to be successful in this position, the applicant must possess highly developed computer skills and have advanced financial accounting (non-profit/governmental), budgeting, cost analysis, grant writing/reporting and supervisory experience. This position reports to the General Manager, WSRE / Executive Director, WSRE TV Foundation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field, and five years upwardly progressive accounting experience in a governmental or other non-profit organization. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CGFM (Certified Governmental Financial Manager); five years progressive accounting experience within a governmental organization or public TV/radio entity including supervisory experience in financial accounting/reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, fund and project accounting, grant writing/reporting and contract writing/management. Experience in management of operational, endowment and restricted funds preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $75,000.00 -$85,000.00 (Depending on the applicant’s qualifications, the salary is negotiable).
