Job Overview
Summary / Objective
The Hourly Body Technician repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.
Essential Functions
- Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards
- Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received
- Prepares vehicles for body repair work
- Notifies management of any additional repairs needed
- Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time
- Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials reporting any deviations to management
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
- Attends pertinent training on request
- Other duties as assigned

Work Environment / Physical Demands
Primarily works in an automotive shop environment. Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. May experience loud noise on a regular basis.
Medium / Heavy WorkWill lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and / or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.
This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time
This position requires the ability to push, pull, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis
This position involves repetitive motion
This position requires the ability to talk and hear
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
Shop Business Hours with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
Preferred Education and Experience
2-5 Years of collision repair experience.
I-CAR or ASE Certifications are a bonus.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Certification / Licenses / Registrations)
Valid Driver's License
