Position Summary :
The Tax Analyst is an integral member of the Fleet Services Organization. This dynamic position will be responsible for providing analysis and recommendations on various tax issues in the defense of audits, in the sales, use and property tax disciplines with a focus on credits and incentives. Additionally, this position will assist with research, and tax planning.
Qualified candidates for this position will have at least 2 years of specific experience with sales and use tax.
Major Responsibilities :
Perform sales & use, FET, property and fuel / mileage tax audits, including negotiating with auditors and interfacing with taxing jurisdictions.
Perfect appeals and refund claims.
The position will require the ability to design, develop, implement, and maintain databases to ensure process compliance requirements and efficiencies are met.
The ability to query, analyze data, and map detailed processes coupled with analytical skills will enable the associate to draw clear and concise conclusions and identify improvement opportunities.
Manage audit support requests with customers, vendors and related companies
Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications :
2 years of tax experience preferred
A Bachelor's degree is required, CPA or Masters in Taxation is preferred
Ability to understand sales, use and property tax
Strong communication skills required
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint
Experience with AS400 and / or Savvion preferred
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
