What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Technology Adult Education Evening Instructor position at Penta Career Center?
STARTING DATE: 2024 – 2025 School Year, on an as-needed basis
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Workforce Development
WORK YEAR: Mid-August – May; Mon./Wed. or Tue./Thur. evenings from 5:00 – 8:00 as needed
SALARY RANGE: $31 per hour with opportunity to advance
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain appropriate valid Ohio teaching license/certificate (no teaching experience or degree needed)
- Minimum of 5 years documented experience in the Automotive Technology industry
- Ability to communicate effectively in an adult education environment
- Dependable and flexible to various work schedules
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workshop
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent organizational skills
- Strong positive interpersonal and public relation skills
- Must work well in a cohesive team atmosphere
- Documented evidence of a clear criminal record
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Ability to instruct, retain and successfully complete students enrolled in the part time Auto Technology course of study
- Provide students instruction in Auto Technology brakes, suspension, engine repair, electrical/electronics, and heating & air conditioning
- Train students on safety inspections, parts ordering, and safe operation of all shop equipment
- Prepare students for ASE credential(s) and other pertinent industry recognized credentials
- Work to prepare students for employment opportunities within the Auto Technology industry
- Maintain complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation
- Actively assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulation and Board Policy
- Remain free of any non-prescribed controlled substance or alcohol abuse in the workplace throughout employment
- Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent, Supervisor, or their designee(s)
