Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor position is primarily focused on facility and capital equipment installation, and preventative and unscheduled maintenance of all facets of the facility including the upkeep and upgrades of the plant. This position requires a high degree of ownership and responsibility for managing labor and materials to assure tasks and projects are conducted and completed timely and correctly by both direct and indirect involvement (assigning and supervising other technicians). This ownership also extends to recognizing and acting upon unscheduled and / or urgent related situations throughout the plant to effectively keep the plant in safe, top working condition with minimal or no supervision. This position is also responsible for training and mentoring maintenance technicians to develop and provide career growth opportunities.
Essential Duties
- 24 / 7 on call support maintenance team and productions daily and in case of emergency
- Assist troubleshooting, repair, installation, modification, recommendations for all piping systems, production, and facilities' equipment, also laboratory's Instruments.
- Understand and utilize the computer-based Maintenance Management software to generate and track work orders, PM tasks, and spare parts inventory lists. Be familiar with and utilize features within the software to generate periodic reports for management review. Utilizing the data for setting team KPI's.
- Understand and follow preventative maintenance procedures as assigned to the department to assure consistent and reliable operation of critical equipment, and effectively respond to unscheduled repair tasks in timely manners as to minimize undue impact to scheduled production.
- Generate and maintain complete records of all maintenance activities including PM's, scheduled, and unscheduled work orders.
- Create periodic reports for management review of all maintenance department activities and / or project updates.
- Maintain the inventory of defined spare parts by periodically checking inventory levels and generating purchase order requests for needed items.
- Be familiar with the standard supplier base to effectively define and locate appropriate spare or replacement parts from supplier catalogs.
- Understand and be able to operate wastewater management systems as back-up to the Wastewater Technician, following waste treatment procedures as directed by engineering to assure consistent and compliant storage, treatment, and discharge of all industrial wastes (liquids and solids), along with the generation and submittal of all associated records. Additionally, this position, when necessary as back-up, will be responsible for the storage, treatment, and discharge of all industrial wastes in a manner as to not cause undue impact to production cycles.
- Effectively distribute, communicate and oversee special tasks to the Wastewater Tech and Lab Tech positions, if any. Additionally, this position is responsible for the supervision of supplemental staff occasionally assigned to special projects.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.
