What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Controls Design Engineer position at Pentangle Tech?
The Lead Controls Design Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the creation of standards in the Retail space for the client. They will have to meet with both client management and engineering to discuss project progress, as well as oversee the work of others. They will also provide the electrical/controls design on product improvements for electrical/controls infrastructure of manufactured product lines as well as coordinate site wide drawings as applicable per site/project. These design activities are to provide assurance that equipment/sites/projects are being built and/or applied per engineering documents, manufacturing and other required standards, such as UL and NEC. The main goal is the safety, quality, functionality, and overall conformity of our products. This position's work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Engineering Degree required.
Minimum 8 years of related experience required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as: construction drawings, single lines, product manuals, control drawings, work instructions, written directions, and markups to electrical/control drawings.
Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills with a desire for continuous improvement.
Detail-oriented and accurate and a positive can-do attitude.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including collaborating with other teams.
Occasionally required to inspect products in-progress in manufacturing.
Proficient with 2-D [AutoCAD] AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software.
Knowledgeable of UL, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.
