What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Pentastar Aviation?
The Senior Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare and document business transactions and record as appropriate. Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheets, income statements, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. This position will primarily support the general ledger, financial reporting, and business analytics functions while reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. Communication with other departments is integral for success in this position. Opportunity for partial remote work exists once core competencies and knowledge of company procedures are established.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
• Prepare and evaluate accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and adherence to US GAAP requirements
• Analyzes daily, month-end and year-end activity of income statement and balance sheet accounts to ensure correct financial information through the general ledger
• Assist in month-end close including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
• Analyze business trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses
• Proactively presents recommendations and/or modifications to management team
• Create and analyze metrics, dashboards, and scorecards for profitability
• Identify, implement, and support improvements to gain efficiencies and effectiveness of accounting team procedures
• Embrace use of computer technology to support business processes
• Keep up-to-date on knowledge in field as it relates to business
• Passion for working in a dynamic environment with exposure to operational business leaders
• Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:Senior Accountant Qualifications:
• Self-starter with the ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Senior Accountant Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or CMA are a plus.
• Knowledgeable of US GAAP and accounting principles
• 5 to 10 years of mid-size corporate accounting experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Microsoft365
• Experience with Sage Intacct and(or) aviation systems are a plus
Salary : $66,500 - $83,600
