Role: Event Support
Summary:
This is an hourly position with varying hours based on the event schedule. Here's what to expect:
Event Support will be part of the team that welcomes hosts and their attendees into BASE ONE. They will assist with all activities, including complimentary beverage prep, maintaining cleanliness of the site and room, aiding in event flow, tear down and setup, restocking, and preparing drinks to order (alcohol and elevated coffee offerings). The Event Support will be the first smiling face a guest sees when they walk through our doors and the last goodbye they hear after their visit to BASE ONE.
Availability:
This position is part-time based on scheduled events, the frequency of events can vary. Candidates should be prepared for a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, depending on the event calendar. Event calendar typically posted out a month in advance.
Responsibilities:
- Guest Engagement: Provide an attentive, fun, upbeat atmosphere
- Event Circulation: Frequently circulate during events to ensure all guests have their needs met and answer questions.
- Event Service: Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and snacks during events.
- Elevated coffee experience (lattes, espressos, etc.)
- Limited alcohol selection (signature cocktails, wine, mocktails, etc.)
- Assist with catering logistics - setup, restocking/refilling food, clean-up, and overall maintenance of the food before, during and after the event.
- Event Setup and Cleanup: Set up and tear down event spaces, including moving and resetting furniture, stocking shelves, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Tech Support: Support technical questions and escalate issues when needed. **training is included in onboarding, must be able to utilize the knowledge from these trainings to support event flow technology requirements during the event
- Service Ring Outs: Handle petty cash, deposits, and cash drawers.
- Cleanliness: Stock bar, load and unload dishwasher, trash removal, and washroom checks.
- Compliance: Maintain accordance with company standards and alcohol service requirements.
Job Qualifications:
- Upbeat individual with a fashion-forward appearance, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and social skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills for confident interactions with all demographics of potential guests/clients.
- Ability to stand/walk for the majority of scheduled shifts.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Must be 21 years old
- Tech savy
- Must be able to walk, stand, squat, bend, and lift 20 lbs.
- Guest service, SERVE SAFE, or serving experience is a plus.
