We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Accountant to join our team at People Architects. As a key member of our financial operations department, you will play a crucial role in managing the daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions across our school network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements with variance analysis.
- Budgeting and Compliance: Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules, ensuring accurate classification of transactions across entities.
- Reporting and Analysis: Analyze financial data to support decision-making, reconcile accounts receivable, and review for collectability.
- Tuition and Financial Aid Management: Oversee tuition, summer camp, school fee, and aftercare invoicing, maintain tuition and financial aid tracking systems.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Process and review bi-weekly payroll and related journal entries, manage 401K census data, workers' compensation, and unemployment payments.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements, administer ACA reporting and COBRA payment reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Experience: CPA with 3 years of experience OR Non-CPA with 5-7 years of related accounting experience.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
