What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Reporting Expert position at People Architects?
As a Senior Accountant at People Architects, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance processes. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements with variance analysis, completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries, and maintaining fixed asset and depreciation schedules. You will also ensure accurate classification of transactions across entities, analyze financial data to support decision-making, and oversee tuition, summer camp, school fee, and aftercare invoicing.
You will work closely with the Advancement department to classify and reconcile donor contributions, maintain pledge receivables and allowances for uncollectible accounts, provide financial reports for grant applications and compliance, and process and review bi-weekly payroll and related journal entries.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution and a CPA or equivalent experience. They will also possess strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices, effective verbal and written communication skills, and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
