Position Overview:
We are looking for a Quality Manager to ensure and maintain quality policies, standards, procedures and programs while facilitating continuous improvement. The Quality Manager is responsible for supporting company quality policies and initiatives as well as promoting and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and integrate the quality management system, including leading internal
- and annual ISO audits
- Interact regularly with customers and suppliers to develop effective quality control processes
- Evaluate production operations from a strategic level, develop and implement quality standard testing, evaluation processes and monitor performance
- Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance
- Responsible for planning, developing, and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives
- Collaborates with management and senior staff across production departments to draft acceptable quality standards and periodically reports status of quality control and operations to the leadership team
- Monitors and evaluates the performance of the production process and quality of resulting products to improve existing modes of operation
Required Skills/Abilities:
- 5 yrs. of experience in a quality role in a precision metal machining / manufacturing facility
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related industrial field is required
- In-depth understanding of quality control procedures, PPAP document preparation and developing first article inspection plans
- Experience with quality management systems (ISO, AS, QS) required, including leading as management representative, participating in surveillance and recertification audits, as well as internal auditing
- Prior hand-on experience as a machinist, setup or machine operator is highly desired
- Ability to adapt and be a key member of a small, close-nit, nimble team – Have a “Player /coach” work ethic
- Ability to supervise, train and lead quality staff
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
