Responsibilities
- Administer, optimize, and support cloud-based databases, including Aurora RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL on AWS, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Design and implement infrastructure automation using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for database deployment, configuration, and management.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying bottlenecks and troubleshooting complex database issues to ensure efficient query execution and system performance.
- Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime during system failures.
- Ensure databases meet security standards and best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and DevOps teams to provide database-related guidance and mentorship and offer support for junior DBAs.
