Job Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for managing community resources, building partnerships, and coordinating programs that support Lunch Break’s mission. Key duties include overseeing events, health and wellness initiatives, and ensuring services are accessible to the community. This role involves working closely with community partners, managing the intake process, and implementing programming to meet the needs and aspirations of the community. A flexible schedule is essential to accommodate events and outreach efforts. The position also requires collaboration across departments to support Lunch Break’s overall goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains an organized and current repository of community resources, ensuring accessibility to critical community services for Lunch Break’s guests.
- Ensures flyers for programs and events are created, distributed, and posted in an organized and accessible fashion.
- Maintains an up to date and relevant list of community partners. Works closely with external providers to keep them informed about our services, ensuring they stay up to date on offerings, updates, and key developments.
- Maintains and grows relationships with nonprofits, stakeholders, and community leaders to advance Lunch Break's mission.
- Cultivates partnerships with local providers to support and sustain health and wellness initiatives.
- Manages, schedules and staffs tabling opportunities related to Lunch Breaks programs and services.
- Implements and oversees programming for Lunch Break’s dining room guests, as needed.
- Oversee the Intake and Resource Navigators, ensuring a streamlined intake process and an effective referral / resource navigation system.
- Oversee the implementation and delivery of annual community events such as the Back-to-School Giveaway, Holiday Toy Program, Prom Giveaway, and more.
- Oversees the implementation of Lunch Break’s social programs and leads the coordination of health and wellness events, including, but not limited to, speaker series, yoga sessions, and cooking demonstrations.
- Oversees the management of Clara’s Closet clothing program.
- Leads a Health and Wellness committee, identifying goals and strategies to enhance stakeholders' health and wellness.
- Develops and implements health and wellness programming for staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Assesses and addresses health disparities for financially insecure individuals through targeted programs.
- Collaborates with administering grants, initiatives, and programs available to the organization.
- Conducts surveys and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, using feedback to refine strategies.
- Develops flexible scheduling for programs to accommodate the needs of working individuals and families.
- Works closely with other departments to ensure and support the successful execution of each project and Lunch Break’s overall goals.
- Report program status to senior leadership, including progress, issues, risks and opportunities for program improvement and execution.
- Special Projects, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, community outreach, or social services required.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing volunteers and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with grant administration and partnership building.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.
- Ability to assess and address community health and wellness disparities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
- Ability to pull and push up to 25lbs
- Employees will be subjected to outside environmental conditions while conducting various levels of outreach or events.
- Occasional travel between Lunch Break's Red Bank and Brookdale Community College locations.
