The Construction Administration Manager will coordinate with Project Manager(s) to aid in the successful management of projects from concept to completion. This position will work closely with Internal Project Staff, Consultants, Owner/Client, and the Contractor during the construction process to ensure the successful implementation of the contract documents. This role will also be involved with activities related to the Construction Administration phase of projects. field observation reports, change orders, submittal review and tracking, information management, and project closeout.
Primary Responsibilities
- Quality Control Review of plans, specifications (Contract Documents).
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical expertise on construction details.
- Coordinate staff and consultants alongside project manager regarding any changes to Contract Documents during the Bid and Construction Phases.
- Review and answer RFI's and shop drawing submittals.
- Maintain submittal logs, RFI's, Issue ASI's, RFP's, or CCD's as needed.
- Review Bids with Contractor(s) and Owner(s).
- Attend pre-bid meetings, review of substitution requests, answering Contractor inquiries via issuing addenda prior to and during the construction process.
- Review Value Engineering options as applicable alongside Project Manager and Owners.
- Review Contractor's project schedules and schedule of values.
- Attend construction meetings and OAC meetings as needed.
- Document construction activities via Construction Observation Reports.
- Track project action items, budget, and potential revisions during the construction process.
- Evaluate change orders and provide feedback.
- Review Pay Applications.
- Review site and material testing reports as applicable.
- Review and document the GC prepared initial and final punch lists.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills You Need to Bring With You
- Strong foundation in construction fundamentals and cost-effective problem solving
- Coordination with design teams, implementation of procedural systems, and continuous project performance improvement
- Proven experience in managing large or multiple projects and developing successful teams
- Detail-oriented with expertise in construction, risk management, and critical decision-making
- Proficient in contract risk analysis, compliance, and contractor relationships
- Advanced knowledge of design trends, building systems, codes, and construction methods
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, construction management software, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills, with a focus on deadlines and adaptability
- Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
Education & Experience You Need
Our ideal candidate will bring the following skills & experience with them:
- To be considered for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, or a related field from an accredited program.
- In field experience in construction is preferred.
- 5 to 7 years' related experience in architecture, construction management and project management, is preferred.
- Architectural registration preferred.
