People Places and Dreams is a holistic wellness agency focusing on peer empowerment, mental health, and substance use disorders. PPD is seeking talented, highly motivated professionals to join our team of dynamic Peer Recovery Supporters. We are looking for state-certified peer recovery supporters who understand and respect the importance of self-directed paths to recovery. Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to support and work with underserved populations, including persons who utilize MAT, identify as LGBTQ , or have co-occurring disorders. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist is a crucial position within the organization and a client care team member. The Specialist will work collaboratively with and under the Peer Department Director.
JOB DESCRIPTION
· Advocating for clients in recovery from substance use disorder or co-occurring disorders
· Identifying resources and community assets to assist clients to develop skills needed while building community relationships
· Mentoring clients, modeling recovery behavior, and assisting them in setting goals such as employment, sobriety, and education
· Crisis intervention
· Supporting a culture of recovery by Providing model behavior for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible
· Providing recovery education to individuals for every phase of their recovery journey, from pre-contemplation engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance
· Identifying barriers and developing strategies for self-directed success
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with all People Places and Dreams policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations (Medicaid/OHMHAS)
- Manage a caseload of up to 15 clients
- Attending supervision (Individual or Group) and weekly or monthly staff meetings as required
- Respond on a 24/7/365 basis to clients on caseload who are experiencing a crisis with support or referral to a clinical team.
- Support supervision and clinical team in updating and managing caseloads.
- Maintain certification by accumulation of continuing education credits
QUALIFICATIONS
·Current OhioMHAS Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Certification
· Actively participating in substance use or mental health recovery and has the ability to model behavior
· A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
· Valid State Driver's License and Proof of current car insurance
· Reliable transportation
· Must be able to pass a background check (BCI) required
· Basic computer skills and navigation (Windows and Microsoft Office Suite)
· Willing to travel within the county (and surrounding areas)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
