People's Express has a fleet of 100 vehicles which include mini vans, transits, 14 passenger small buses, and large buses with capacity for up 33 riders. Other Responsibilities
- Schedules and assigns shifts and establishes work priorities; develops and implements programs of preventive maintenance; manages and analyzes operation and maintenance costs for all company vehicles.
- Determines requirements for spare parts, supplies, and materials inventory; assists in preparation of specifications for maintenance equipment.
- Makes budget requests and monitors budget expenditures.
- Research catalogues, checks price, orders and makes direct purchases of equipment, parts and fuel; makes work assignments, sets priority for training and reviews the work of vehicle maintenance personnel; conducts performance evaluations; recommends hiring and discipline of subordinate employees.
- Provides supervision and assistance in the repair and maintenance of public transit vehicles.
- Observes and enforces safety regulations; prepares reports on equipment utilization and status of projects; attends meetings and training sessions; approves the purchase of supplies and parts.
- Creates and manages processes to ensure all vehicles are safe to be operated on the road.
- Manages vehicle licensure and registration.
- Keep good working relations with local vendors and other business partners
Requirements
- 2 years of relevant experience with vehicle or equipment maintenance record keeping systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple duties.
- Effective communicator.
