Job Summary:
People’s Trust Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Contents Adjuster to handle personal property claims throughout the state of Florida. This role involves evaluating, estimating, and settling claims related to damaged contents due to covered perils. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property claims, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in the field and remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and assess personal property claims, ensuring accurate valuation of damaged items.
- Conduct virtual and in-person inspections to evaluate the extent of contents losses.
- Utilize estimating software (such as XactContents) to create detailed inventory reports and cost assessments.
- Collaborate with policyholders, contractors, vendors, and internal claims teams to facilitate efficient claim resolution.
- Review policy coverages, endorsements, and exclusions to determine claim eligibility.
- Negotiate settlements with insureds and other stakeholders in accordance with policy terms and company guidelines.
- Maintain clear and concise claim file documentation, including photos, estimates, and communication records.
- Provide exceptional customer service by keeping policyholders informed throughout the claims process.
- Stay up to date on Florida insurance laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in catastrophe (CAT) response efforts during major loss events.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling property or contents claims.
- Active Florida All-Lines Adjuster License required.
- Proficiency in XactContents, Symbility, or other claims estimating software.
- Strong understanding of homeowners insurance policies and coverage interpretation.
- Ability to work independently, manage a high-volume workload, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel within Florida as required for inspections.
- CAT deployment experience is a plus.
