Job Description
Job Summary / Overview: Perform responsible human support and paraprofessional work assisting classroom teachers or other professionals to achieve instructional objectives; assisting students with disabilities with achieving established goals and with personal care and mobility.
Success in the role is measured on:
Meeting and communicating the needs and accommodations for a student
Ability to work closely with a student to remove barriers and challenges
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Assist classroom teacher in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve and enhance instructional and behavioral objectives.
2. Work with individuals, small groups, or large groups as assigned teacher.
3. Assist with behavior modification as assigned by teacher.
4. Lift, move, and operate adaptive equipment.
5. Escort students as assigned by teacher or administrator.
6. Monitor students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
7. Provide programmed practice activities and repetitions as developed by teacher, therapist or pathologist.
8. Report student concerns directly and expeditiously to teacher and assist with student resolution.
9. Assist with breakfast, lunch, snack, including clean-up.
10. Maintain various records and files.
11. Perform related work as required.
Salary: $18.56-24.58 DOE
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
