Description
Position Title: Network Architect III
Location: Maxwell/Gunter Airforce Base, AL
Clearance level: TS/ SCI Eligible
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Analyzes and simulates network traffic to aid in problem resolution or to test updated configurations in virtual or physical lab environments.
- Optimizes, oversees, and supports Enterprise communications networks including overlaying security technologies.
- Monitors and test network performance and provides network performance statistics, reports, and recommended fix actions.
- Ability to work with a deep level of understanding/experience with enterprise level network architectures/configurations is required and Software Defined Networking (SDN) is desired.
- Responsible for network and security controls design review implementation and troubleshooting of IT security systems including hardware software and appliances.
- Evaluates Cloud offerings and provides recommendations to leadership for improved mission effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and operational efficiencies.
- Monitors system utilization and circuit bandwidth then reports anomalies to supervisor.
- Develops, executes, modifies or removes scripts to assist in automation of tasks.
- Reviews and documents all workload activities per incident or change request to eliminate rework or for auditing/investigation purposes.
- Notifies appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC), in writing, within 4 hours for all accountable item moves.
- Neatly bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- 7 years’ experience with designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, upgrading, patching, and hardening routers/switches, serial consoles, load balancers, and switches.
- Must possess a Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- CCNP Collaboration, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Service Provider
