Description
Position Title: System Administrator II (MS SQL Server)
Location: Maxwell Gunter Airforce Base, AL
Clearance level: Secret
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Manages SQL database instances, or PostgreSQL, to manage and interact with hosted software applications such as SharePoint sites, NetQoS, Cacti, SolarWinds, etc.
- Completes design, installation, configurations, upgrades, consolidation, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance.
- Conducts database backups and recovery processes in accordance with all local and federal guidelines/policies. Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, tables, scripts, and implementation guides.
- Performs server migrations and data conversions, as needed.
- Develops and maintains SQL Server environment technical documentation and system security plans. Provision, install, configure, operate, maintain certificate management requirements as well as the maintenance of high availability production and disaster recovery (DR) sites.
- Identifies system issues and provides feasible courses of action to mitigate/resolve problems.
- Responds to system faults, analyzing and correcting applications or errors to reestablish service.
- Performs administrative work using and installing new and existing physical or web based database application systems in a smart card Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environment.
- Notifies appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC), in writing, within 4 hours for all accountable item moves.
- Neatly bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- 5 years’ experience with design, normalization, optimization, modification of Microsoft SQL databases.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (Server Admin).
- Must possess a Secret Clearance.
