The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Division of State Operations (DSO) is creating a peer and community approach to certain specialized trainings. An in-person experiential-type training, facilitated by State Operations will be the best way to effectuate improvements in communication and create healthier workplace communities. Upon the completion of these specialized trainings, the trainers need to be confident in their ability to respond effectively to issues relative to their own workplace and the Individuals served by the DSO. Under the direction of the Associate Commissioner the State Operations Peer-to-Peer Collaborative Learning Team has the primary goal of supporting the development and coordination of “Champion” or “Master” trainers who are located throughout 6 SO Regions and Districts. These Champion or Master trainers are responsible for creating specialized trainers for the promoting, facilitating, and supporting the implementation of specialized and custom designed training programs at a regional and or district level. Examples of these specialized Train-the-Trainer programs include Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and Active Bystander and Abuse Prevention. These Champion or Master trainers will promote embracing diversity as a strength, foster inclusivity in state operated programs across the districts, and build capacity for teaching and learning new diversity, equity, and inclusion skills. The focus of the custom CARE Train-the-Trainer curriculum will utilize 'Active Bystandership' principles to train staff in skills and strategies for identifying uncomfortable, inappropriate and possibly abusive behavior in the workplace. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: - Assist with coordinating the implementation of diversity and inclusion, and equal opportunity initiatives within the Division of State Operations.- Assist with developing relevant programming to enhance employees' cultural awareness.- Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to train State Operations employees on equal opportunity issues related to employment, and provision of services. - Articulate agency goals and objectives to agency executives and advises agency management on diversity and inclusion, and equal opportunity matters.- Collect information and data that is used for reporting related to agency diversity and equal opportunity programs.- Review personnel data available related to hiring to ensure fairness and equity and develop content that can make training more effective. - Represent the division at events on diversity and inclusion, and equal opportunity. - Meet with advocacy groups, individuals, and their families, to exchange information on agency equal opportunity policies, procedures, and practices. - Routinely travel to various assigned geographic territory Developmental Disability State Operations Offices and state operated programs to observe trainings being delivered and evaluate effectiveness in meeting the training goals. - Assist with standardizing workflow processes for staff across the state. - Support and development of the regional trainers to ensure staff competency providing feedback for their development that supports and ensures the quality of the training meets the standards and expectations and/or fidelity of that training program. The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience participating in the development, implementation, and/or administration of programs related to diversity, equity, or inclusion of protected class members, or in the service delivery to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. An associates degree can substitute for 2 years of experience, a bachelors degree can substitute for 4 years of experience, or a masters degree can substitute for 5 years of experience.
