Summary:
The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of complete and accurate estimates on large and complex construction projects. This role is tasked with the development and implementation of standards and procedures for the estimating team and is responsible for the review of final estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness. As a key role in our organization, the Senior Estimator is expected to build effective relationships with team members, external customers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for design-build, conceptual, and plans/specs estimating
• Analyze project specifications, including but not limited to sketches, blueprints, and sample layouts, to determine estimated costs and pricing
• Prepare quantity take-offs and estimate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment required to meet the provisions of the contract
• Reviews final estimates for completeness and accuracy
• Solicit and review quotes from vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
• Assisting operations with subcontractor procurement
• Work with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans, specifications and general project requirements
• Detailed knowledge of pricing and costs for materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment for all trade disciplines
• Ability to manage multiple preconstruction projects
• Prepare cost analysis by reviewing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items
• Develop and maintain historical cost data, including labor and equipment rates, installation methods, and production rates
• Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits
• Builds effective relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients
• Review awarded projects and compare costs on a timely basis to as-sold estimates to confirm the accuracy of the estimate
• Performs other duties associated with this position as may be appropriate
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management or Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an estimator for a General Contractor; experience in Manufacturing preferred
• Proficient with Onscreen Takeoff
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Possess a strong work ethic

Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
