Full-Time MIG/TIG Structural Welder Level 1-2
- 1st shift
- Monday through Friday
- 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- $20-$22/hr depending on experience*
- A resume required showing experience in the related field
- Welding test will be required
- Must have own welding helmet
- Welding sheet metal and structural steel to the correct dimensions under proper supervision
- Use math functions accurately—multiplication, division, conversion of decimals to fractions
- Use/Read tape measure easily
- Use grinding tools to smooth out all welds in preparation for a finish paint part
- Read blueprints/mechanical engineering drawings
- Lay out holes to proper dimensions per prints
- Demonstrates knowledge of MIG welding applications
- Establish a cut list for raw materials with proper supervision
- Ensure proper identification of all raw materials with job, work order, and E.S. number before going to paint
- Order raw materials for the Weld Department when knowing the proper job is scheduled with proper supervision
- Assist the Department Lead in the daily operation of the department
- Read, understand, and interpret parts lists and mechanical engineering drawings
- Assist in training other employees
- Maintain welding equipment
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Task-Oriented
- MIG/TIG welding fabrication experience with structural steel and sheet metal
- Preferred: previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Good Math Skills
- Accuracy in reading a tape measure
- Ability to read, understand parts list, and fill out quality check sheets
- Current, Valid Driver’s License is Required
MIG/TIG Structural Welder Level 1-2 Working Conditions:
- Mostly standing
- Continuously lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds
- Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs. (Lifting more than 50 lbs. overhead must be performed by using mechanical aids; if mechanical aids are not available, the lift will be performed by two employees in a team lift.)
- Position may involve bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and kneeling with occasional crawling and twisting.
- Detailed work with hands; fine work and simple grasping
- Periodic travel may be involved
- As needed, will work at a desk and a computer screen for extended periods
- Must be able to manually enter data into the computer system and understand the screen and images that appear.
