HVAC Technician $40-$45/hr

We are looking for HVAC Technicians with Refrigeration skills for PeopleReady Skilled Trades, you'll support industrial and commercial contractors in the Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. In this HVAC Technician role, you'll enjoy weekly pay, health insurance benefits and a flexible work schedule. 

The hourly rate for this position is $40 - $45 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial/industrial type HVAC Systems and controls that includes preventative maintenance (PMs), troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repair of systems to include Variable Air Volume (VAVs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Controls, and Boilers
• In addition, install/or connect compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion/discharge valves, temperature/humidity controls, fans, control panels, switches, fuses, filters, gauges, ducts, piping, tubing, environmental controls, and related components, along with complete power connections
• Troubleshoots, maintains, inspect, diagnose, modify and repairs heating, ventilation systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment including boilers, air handlers, hydronic systems and components, chillers, colling towers, fans and fan motors, pumps and pump motors, electric controls and associated safety, overcurrent, and other protection devices
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and services for various HVAC Systems and refrigeration and distribution systems to include associated plumbing, electrical, mechanical and controls systems within and in accordance with manufactures specifications and the Uniform Mechanical Code
• In addition, offload, reclaim, recover, and dispose of refrigeration chemicals from all equipment and systems; recommend layout; work sequences; types of materials; inspect room and/or area thermostat controls; clean, calibrate and set temperatures
• Create, prepare, and update maintenance work orders; review and understand system blueprints; utilization and operation of basic hand and power tools; operate commercial lift equipment and climbing of ladders and scaffolding
• Perform internet research of various products and systems, repair parts, and technical documents
• Any tasks that Management may deem to assign as business needs dictate

 Qualifications:

• Candidates must have EPA Universal certification with Refrigeration 
• At least 5 years of HVAC experience 
• Be able to pass a federal background check (performed by a military base) 
• Have current drivers license and auto insurance and registration on their vehicle
• Working at an active military base
• Hand tools
