Job Summary
We are seeking skilled Sandblaster/Painters to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for painting or finishing by using sandblasting techniques & finishing surfaces with Proper coatings. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of various materials, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Sandblaster will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality finishes on construction projects.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA Basic is a plus can be provided if you have verifiable experience
- Drug and Background policies of each site must be adhered to as needed.
- Respirator testing and compliance with safety for each site worked is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, or shape surfaces.
- Prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, and other contaminants.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment in good working condition.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project specifications are met.
- Apply knowledge of color theory and construction painting techniques to achieve desired finishes.
- Maintain an organized work area and adhere to cleanliness standards.
- Assist in estimating project needs and timelines as required.
- Select the appropriate paint or mix paints according to pre-determined formula and in accordance with contract specifications
- Disassembles paint and sandblasting equipment; cleans equipment, using solvent, wire brushes, dry cloths, etc.
- Operate various types of equipment such as blast pots and spray guns.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sandblasting or related fields such as construction painting or masonry. Prefeered 2 years of commercial or industrial sandblasting/painting experience.
- Basic math skills for measuring and estimating materials.
- Familiarity with concrete finishing and frame carpentry is a plus.
- Knowledge of color theory and its application in construction painting is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must have reliable transportation
The hourly rate for this position is up to $25/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
