Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $15 - $15 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Flagger:

• Work with team to establish safe movement of traffic around work zone, in accordance with safety regulations and/or Department of Transportation regulations
• Flag motorists to warn them of obstacles or repair work ahead
• Take ownership of work zone and pass vehicles safely
• Place signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices- duties will vary according to job assignment
• Respond to emergencies as directed and perform tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies
• The flagger's only job is work zone protection and traffic control
• The flagger must never assist the crew with work activities, or engage in any distraction, and must remain on duty until properly relieved
• Use stop-slow paddles, where feasible

Job requirements:

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Communication skills required - flaggers remain in constant contact with the crew
• Remain in a stationary position for long periods at a time
• Flagger Certification Required
• Maintaining the flow of traffic around the construction sites
• Closing the lanes in case of emergency and maintenance work
• Directing the vehicles as and when required
• Setting up traffic cones, and signs around the site
• Answering questions about the detours
