TITLE: Title Clerk/Processing Support
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Loan Processing
SALARY RANGE: $37,000.00 - $44,000.00 incentive
Job Title: Title Clerk/Processing Support
GENERAL SUMMARY
This role is primarily responsible for managing the titling process, including acquisition, release, and lien perfection of collateralized loans. This role also supports the loan processing team by assisting in loan closings and documentation verification. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, efficient, and possess a strong knowledge of titling processes while providing excellent service to both internal teams and members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Title Processing
- Oversee and process all DMV title work, including acquisition, release, and repossession titles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with credit union policies.
- Perfect liens on collateralized loans, ensuring all titles and security interests are accurately documented and up-to-date.
- Assist with the resolution of title-related issues and provide support for members and staff regarding titling inquiries.
- Oversee and process all total loss claims.
- Loan Processing Support
- Assist with gathering and verifying required documentation for loan processing.
- Coordinate closing appointments with members and branch personnel to ensure smooth and timely loan closings.
- Disburse loan funds when the loan package is complete, ensuring all documentation is imaged and filed accurately.
- Member Interaction & Service
- Provide excellent, professional service to members, ensuring timely and accurate titling and loan closing experiences.
- Respond to member inquiries related to titling, loan documents, and credit union services, offering assistance and guidance as needed.
- Cross-sell credit union products and services when appropriate and support members throughout their loan journey.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all titling, loan processing, and related activities are compliant with applicable laws, credit union policies, and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the US Patriot Act.
- Maintain an understanding of current titling and lending trends to ensure compliance with regulatory changes.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

- Participate in staff meetings to provide feedback and discuss areas for improvement in the titling process and overall loan processing operations.
- Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by credit union management.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a lending or loan processing role within a credit union or financial institution, with a strong understanding of titling and lien processes preferred.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and a focus on accuracy in the titling process.
- Ability to apply judgment and follow procedures in complex situations with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette, listening skills, and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with loan management systems.
- Physical Requirements & Travel
- Occasional travel may be required for DMV visits or other necessary tasks.
- Some physical activities required, including bending, kneeling, and lifting of documents or materials.
