Assistant Manager
The Peoples Bank Theatre will hire an experienced Assistant Manager to help the General Manager manage facility operations by working with touring acts, rental groups, and other organizations using the theatre. (hourly rate range or based on qualifications?)
Under the supervision of the General Manager this part time person will help with the overall success of the theatre operations and the following major areas of responsibility:
- Assist General Manager with supervision of concessions and front of house operations both in main theatre and Stage Door space. This requires ordering and maintenance of beverages and concession supplies.
- Assist General Manager with back of house operations such as artist rider fulfillment and security.
- Work with Volunteer Coordinator and volunteers during showtime.
- Assist General Manager by overseeing the cleaning of facilities pre and post show.
- Assist General Manager with pre and post show load in and out, serve as theatre steward for show arrivals and departures when necessary.
- Help General Manager define and communicate all maintenance needs at the theatre and follow-through to ensure that the building is properly maintained.
- Responsible for marquee and facility specific advertising such as signage, banners and posters.
- Stocking and restocking of concession items (carrying stock up to storage room about 20 stairs)
Requirements include a HS diploma and some assistant manager experience.
Physical Requirements include a significant amount of walking and stair climbing as there is no elevator access to the balcony level in the theatre or Green Room and Chorus Room under the stage. Frequent moving of stage equipment and supplies requires a significant amount of effort. Stocking the refrigerators on the first and second levels of the theatre and the Stage Door space next to the theatre require regular lifting of over 10 pounds and often up to 50 pounds.
The Assistant Manager will possess strong computer skills, cash handling experience, strong
organizational and prioritization skills, and effective planning skills. The Assistant Manager will be a
detail- oriented multi-tasker who has a strong work ethic and works well under pressure. This Manager
must also be willing to work irregular hours as required by the various events occurring at the theatre.
This person will be of high integrity, character, and have an innovative thought process. This person
must be a customer service superstar who will have a can-do attitude towards any challenges that may
arise.
