PeopleService is hiring a Utility Billing Clerk! PeopleService is a company of Water/Wastewater Professionals who provide contract operations in 7 states across the Midwest. We provide billing solutions for multiple cities and SIDs in four states.
The Utility Billing Clerk delivers excellence in customer service to residents and city personnel for billing inquiries. Performs the daily workflow transactions including responding to residents and city clients, processing payments, and completing tasks with the billing and finance departments.
This position is located in our Downtown Omaha office with working hours from 7:30a – 4:30p Monday - Friday.
What will you do?
- Acts as first point of contact with customers via telephone, e-mail or other communication, gathering necessary information to help provide answers to questions and solve problems. This can include inquiries for billing, usage, leaks, adjustments and more.
- Take payments over the phone from customers
- Process mail payments
- Initial setup and execution of recurring EFT and credit card transactions for the account
- Balancing of accounts
- Processing and delivering reports to internal staff and external customers
- Generate delinquent letters and 24 hours notices
- Work closely with our operators regarding work orders, turn on/offs, meter reads, and other miscellaneous tasks
- Enter in meter reads manually and through various software and generate bills
- Document customer interactions and updating relevant systems according to established guidelines
