At PeopleService, Inc., we are seeking a motivated and skilled Water/Wastewater Operator to join our team. As a Water/Wastewater Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water and wastewater systems.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for treating water and wastewater by adding chemicals, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment such as blowers and pumps, monitoring meters and gauges, and accurately reporting readings. You will also be responsible for reading utility water meters, responding to after-hour emergencies, and providing high-level customer service to a variety of audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* Treat water and wastewater by adding chemicals
* Inspect, repair, and maintain equipment such as blowers and pumps
* Monitor meters and gauges and accurately report readings
* Read utility water meters
* Respond to after-hour emergencies
* Provide high-level customer service
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* NE IV water certification preferred
* NE II wastewater certification preferred
* Strong mechanical background/knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment
* Valid driver's license to operate company vehicle
* Ability to work weekends based on a 3-person rotating schedule and respond to after-hour emergency callouts
* Ability to perform various math calculations
* Strong organization skills to prioritize the workday/load
* Ability to operate a PC, SCADA, iPhone, and various software packages
