Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (APM) – Ground-Up Construction (Medical Facility & Government Project)

Reports To: Project Manager


Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of a ground-up, at-risk construction project for a medical facility within the government sector. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong understanding of construction management, government contracting, and healthcare facility requirements. The APM will work closely with the Project Manager and field teams to ensure project objectives are met on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of regulations for government-funded construction projects.
  • Experience with at-risk construction contracts (e.g., Design-Build or CMAR).
  • Familiarity with healthcare facility construction codes and infection control measures.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and project management tools.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, or similar project management software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in planning, organizing, and managing all phases of construction from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Support cost management efforts, including tracking project budgets, reviewing subcontractor invoices, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Scheduling: Assist in maintaining and updating project schedules, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure work is completed according to scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Contract Administration: Support in reviewing, negotiating, and managing project contracts, including government compliance requirements.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all government regulations, healthcare construction standards, and safety protocols.
  • Change Management: Assist in evaluating and processing change orders, RFIs, and submittals in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Quality Control: Monitor construction progress, support inspections, and help ensure compliance with project specifications and healthcare facility standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, and documentation required for government compliance and project tracking.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with clients, government agencies, design teams, and internal project teams.
