This role involves performing precise analyses on raw materials and finished products according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and analytical methods. The candidate will verify test results against set specifications and promptly notify their supervisor of any deviations. Additionally, the role includes assisting with laboratory projects and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical tests using a variety of methods, including instrumental and automated techniques, following detailed procedures.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of laboratory work and test results.
- Perform data calculations and report findings through designated systems, such as SAP.
- Interpret results to ensure compliance with specified standards for raw materials and finished products.
- Prepare, compound, and formulate products as needed for internal use or customer requests.
- Support R&D initiatives, including assisting in project development, execution, and completion.
- Manage laboratory inventories, including tracking and disposing of samples appropriately.
- Restock chemicals and create purchase requisitions within SAP systems.
- Ensure proper inventory movements in SAP and maintain well-organized customer files.
- Prepare and ship R&D samples to clients.
- Assist with method development, validation activities, and production tasks such as tobacco extraction.
- Develop Safety Data Sheets (SDS) as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols, maintain cleanliness in the lab, and comply with company housekeeping policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve laboratory goals and enhance analytical methods.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a Associate’s degree with 4 years of lab experience. OR just 2–4 years of laboratory experience
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or similar laboratory setting (2–4 years).
- Proficiency in handling and analyzing chemicals, including familiarity with raw material testing and finished product evaluation.
- Comfortable working with liquid nicotine and flavoring components, including exposure to specific aromas.
- Strong knowledge of analytical and chemical techniques, with an interest in exploring new methodologies.
- Ability to maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, adhering to company safety standards.
