Responsibilities
- Lead the design, programming, and integration of electrical automation systems.
- Oversee and approve electrical and control designs, schematics, and drawings.
- Develop detailed concept designs, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Program and troubleshoot automation components, including PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision, and servo systems.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers to create seamless designs and solutions.
- Select and specify automation components such as motors, sensors, servos, and safety systems.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables while maintaining communication with stakeholders.
- Oversee the build, test, and debug processes, ensuring systems meet quality and functionality standards.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including manuals and maintenance instructions.
- Provide technical support, service calls, and redesigns as needed.
- Collaborate with the automation team to refine product and equipment designs.
- Create detailed electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.
- Develop statements of work (SOW) for internal approval.
- Design and program complete automation control systems using tools like Rockwell Compact GuardLogix PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, safety systems, and related components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the design, build, and installation phases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7 years in electrical automation engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming automation components and systems.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience in project management and meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with automation components, including motors, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and servos.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
