Scope of Position
Our Client is hiring a Senior Electrical Automation Engineer to lead the design, programming, and project management for all electrical and control aspects of custom automation systems. This includes overseeing and approving electrical designs and drawings and programming and integrating various control components, such as PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, and servo drives.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, turning concept designs into fully functional systems that meet or exceed project specifications. Responsibilities include system design, component selection, troubleshooting, documentation, and ongoing support. You will also be critical in maintaining project timelines and ensuring quality execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, programming, and integration of electrical automation systems.
- Oversee and approve electrical and control designs, schematics, and drawings.
- Develop detailed concept designs, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Program and troubleshoot automation components, including PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision, and servo systems.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers to create seamless designs and solutions.
- Select and specify automation components such as motors, sensors, servos, and safety systems.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables while maintaining communication with stakeholders.
- Oversee the build, test, and debug processes, ensuring systems meet quality and functionality standards.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including manuals and maintenance instructions.
- Provide technical support, service calls, and redesigns as needed.
- Collaborate with the automation team to refine product and equipment designs.
- Create detailed electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.
- Develop statements of work (SOW) for internal approval.
- Design and program complete automation control systems using tools like Rockwell Compact GuardLogix PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, safety systems, and related components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the design, build, and installation phases.
