Opportunity
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Data Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.
PeopleTec, Inc. is seeking a mission-driven Data Scientist to support our DoD customers in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will work in cross-functional environments supporting U.S. Army and defense-related programs using tools such as Power BI, SQL, and our Rubix enterprise business platform to derive insights, enhance business operations, and support advanced analytics, AI, engineering and software development initiatives.
Duties:
- Conduct exploratory and advanced data analysis using tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Python to support mission requirements.
- Perform multi-domain (human capital, logistics, engineering, finance) and system/process analysis to inform decision-making across DoD and software engineering domains.
- Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate trends, anomalies, and performance metrics.
- Utilize the Rubix application and related data platforms for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Support system/software development activities including documentation, integration, and test evaluation tracking.
- Create automated data engineering flows to assist in data curation efforts using various tooling, including Power Automate, Python, SQL Server Integration Services, Army Vantage.
- Support Risk Management Framework requirements for Authority to Operate on developed/deployed applications.
- Participate in customer presentations, proposal development efforts, and progressive engagements with external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- 3 years of relevant analytical experience supporting software, engineering, or defense operations.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel; experience with Power BI required.
- Demonstrated experience with dashboard/report development, data wrangling, and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate).
- Exposure to defense data environments such as Vantage, control systems, or cybersecurity-related analytics.
- Ability to communicate technical insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Strong understanding of supervised/unsupervised learning techniques, regression analysis, or statistical modeling is a plus.
- Travel: 10 %
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
