Description
Duties: Under the supervision of the Manager of Athletics & Recreation Services, the Building Supervisor – Lakeview and Franciscan Recreation Center is responsible for the following:
- Serve as a building supervisor and lead staff person on duty during recreational activities and rentals.
- Responsible for assisting with set up and tear down of events which includes, but is not limited to, setting up tables, chairs, and trash removal.
- Assist in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of all designated areas.
- Serve as the main contact during all building activities, interacting with participants and the public. Greet all customers in a warm and friendly manner.
- Provide excellent customer service, including over the telephone. Respond to voicemails as assigned.
- Keep the front desk and displays clean, neat, and orderly.
- Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Support all aspects of the Peoria Park District’s safety program.
- Report any vandalism, unusual conditions, emergency situations, or incidents to the Manager of Athletics and Recreation Services.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: Evenings and weekends are required. Shifts may also include mornings and afternoons, as assigned. Schedules are completed on a monthly basis. Some physical exertion is required in handling supplies, equipment, and materials.
Qualifications
Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of two years of clerical or secretarial experience preferred.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work harmoniously with co-workers and the general public.
- Ensure that District policies are followed in a firm, friendly, and impartial manner.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to count money and give correct change, as needed.
- Ability to prepare facility for programs, meetings, and rentals according to daily schedule.
- Ability to use registration software to register participants for programs, reserve rooms for parties, complete rental contracts and emails and sell punch cards.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
