What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Sommer Farm Maintenance Staff position at Peoria Park District?
Duties: Under the supervision of the Manager of Sommer Park, the Seasonal Sommer Farm Maintenance Staff is responsible for the following:
- Set up and take down for special events.
- Delivery of special event equipment including tables, chairs, canopies, etc.
- Mowing with a push mower or riding mower.
- Trimming with power weed trimmers or manually.
- Emptying garbage barrels and picking up litter.
- Cleaning and maintaining public restrooms.
- Maintenance of all equipment.
- Report any unsafe athletic field conditions, vandalism, unusual conditions, emergency situations, or incidents to the Manager of Sommer Park immediately.
- Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Supporting all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to reach, walk, pull, kneel, squat and bend at the waist and knees.
- Ability to operate machinery relative to job duties.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Must be 17 years of age or older.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Aptitude for on-the-job training.
- Requires a valid Illinois State Drivers License.
- Ability to work well with Park District personnel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and special events.
- Ability to wear steel-toe shoes and Park District staff shirt.
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
- Personal: Work record that shows reliability, integrity, initiative, and resourcefulness.
