Job Summary: Performs a variety of highly confidential Human Resources-focused secretarial and administrative functions for the Director of Human Resources, Peoria Unified School District (PUSD).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following:
• Performs a variety of moderate to complex secretarial and quasi-administrative duties.
• Maintains calendar, arranges meetings, meeting sites and handles other logistical requirements. Compiles, prepares and distributes informational packets including employee handbook. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, policies and procedures.
• Supervises the tracking and maintaining of records for Classified Professional Growth.
• Contacts applicants, schedules interview appointments, responds to inquiries and requests for information.
• Responsible for work schedule calendars..
• Tracks, records, updates and enters a variety of confidential employee data.
• Maintains confidentiality and public files and records.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances and codes and PUSD policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of the principles of business English, grammar, spelling and preparation of correspondence.
• Knowledge of the principles of confidential and public file, records and database management.
• Knowledge of the principles of business office management.
• Skill in reading, interpreting, understanding and applying relevant Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances and codes and PUSD policies and procedures.
• Skill in oral and written communications.
• Skill in making arrangements for substitute custodial and classroom aid coverage.
• Skill in administering and scoring tests.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district.
• Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED, AND three (3) years of relevant, progressively responsible confidential human resources office, clerical, secretarial, customer service or closely related experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
• May be required to possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Must possess at time of application and must maintain a Commissioned Notary for State of Arizona.
• Must be able to pass clerical testing, and keyboard at 55 wpm.
