Overview
PEP Housing seeks a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Analyst to join our finance team. They ideal candidate will ensure that the financial records of the organization and affiliated entities are accurately recorded. This position focuses on accurate transaction processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, corporate credit cards, and other transactions. The Accounting Analyst performs account analysis and reconciliations, journal entries, preparation of governmental reports, tracking revenues and costs including donations, grants, and development costs, audit preparation, and other accounting, administrative, and project work. This position reports to the Senior Director of Finance and works collaboratively with others to help meet the goals of the Finance Team. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately processes and records accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit cards, cash receipts and intercompany transactions in a timely manner, using consistent exercise of discretion and judgement based on knowledge of accounting principles and business practices.
- Prepares account analysis and reconciliations to ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Prepares and posts journal entries as needed to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Analyzes transactions to resolve any discrepancies or issues. Audits information to ensure there are no duplicate payments, late payments, mis-coded invoices, or incorrect payments.
- Resolves problems, helps implement solutions and system improvements using critical thinking skills, discretion, and judgement.
- Utilizes Excel and software solutions to provide accurate, timely, and relevant information.
- Documents procedures, follows best practices, and maintains strong internal controls.
- Records real estate development costs and assists with tracking of various revenues and costs.
- Tracking and reporting of grants, donations, contributions, and other revenue and expenses.
- Prepares periodic or one-time reports for management and external entities.
- Participates in annual financial statement audit process.
- Supports the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Maintains vendor and other relationships through clear communication and professionalism.
- Works cooperatively with others to meet the Finance Department’s goals and to support the informational needs of management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
- Adheres to company and departmental policies and procedures.

Education, Skills, and Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum of two years’ work experience in a professional accounting setting.
- Experience with payables, receivables, general ledger, account analysis and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and general business practices.
- Experience with nonprofits, property management, and construction industries helpful.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, job costing, and cost allocations helpful.
- Experience working with accounting software required. Yardi Voyager experience helpful.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Must be highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and remain flexible when requirements change.
- Self-managed; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Takes initiative in handling urgent matters.
- Compassion and understanding for the elderly and disabled residents.
