Job Description
The Pepi Foods Service Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of vending machines, micro-markets, office coffee set ups, and water filtration systems across our service area. This hands-on role requires technical know-how, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude. You’ll troubleshoot issues, perform routine upkeep, and ensure our machines are stocked, clean, and operational—keeping Pepi Foods’ reputation for reliability strong.
Job Responsibilities
- Service & Repair: Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vending machines, micro-markets, office coffee set ups, and water filtration systems (including coin/bill acceptors, refrigeration units, and dispensing systems).
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections, cleanings, and tune-ups to minimize downtime and extend machine lifespan—lubricate parts, replace filters, test components.
- Installation: Set up new vending machines at client sites, ensuring proper placement, power connection, and initial testing.
- Customer Interaction: Respond to service calls, communicate with clients about machine status, and resolve concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Documentation: Log service visits, parts used, and maintenance schedules accurately using company tools (digital or paper).
- Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols, food handling standards, and local regulations while working on-site or in the shop.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or GED; technical training/certification (e.g., HVAC, electronics) preferred but not required.
Experience:
1-3 years in equipment repair, maintenance, or a related field (vending machines, HVAC, appliances, or automotive a plus).
Skills / Requirements:
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting—comfort with tools
- Ability to read manuals, schematics, or technical guides.
- Problem-solving under pressure—quick fixes on the fly.
- Lift up to 50 lbs (machines, parts, stock), stand/bend for long periods, and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
